How Does It Make You Feel?

“If it doesn’t make you feel fabulous; don’t do it, don’t buy it, don’t wear it, don’t eat it, don’t keep it.”

Each we day we have the opportunity to make many different choices, but this can be easy to forget when we are swept up in our routines. I love routine…..when it serves me well. But what about when what we are doing day in and day out isn’t getting us the results we really want in our lives? Have you ever felt stuck? We may not be able to change our situation, but we can change the way we think about it, we can change our actions, reactions and behaviors to end up with a completely different result from the same situation. We are never truly stuck. There is always another way.

A dear friend of mine turned 50 not too long ago and she was full steam ahead on the “50 is fabulous train”! She embraced being 50 like no one I’ve ever seen and it was incredibly inspiring! She was restless in her pursuit of finally just being herself and not apologizing for it! The above quote makes me think of her and SMILE!

Here’s the thing….we don’t need a birthday that rhymes with FABULOUS or some monumental life event to make new choices. If you don’t like the way you felt yesterday or last month or even the way the entire year of 2017 ended up, make different choices TODAY! My advice: Start with the way you are seeing the situation. Is there another way to look at it? Is what you’re telling yourself about the situation even true?

When we become present and focus our energy on one thing and clear out old thoughts, new ideas come to us. New thoughts about how to take action or how STOP doing something that isn’t making you feel great. Just try one new thing to help get you closer to the direction you want to go. It might be saying no to something to make room for what’s important to you. We don’t have to over-do everything, contrary to popular belief in our culture. Step by step big changes happen.

Have a terrific week and remember all is well!

How timely, tomorrow I turn 60 and at 59 vowed to be small in size only by 60. Didn’t happen because I didn’t commit to myself to choose wisely and healthier and CAREfully – yes CARE for myself. I am here and I will CARE for myself this year and believe good results will follow. Thank for always posting just what I need.
