    Hi there,
I agree and it’s always a surprise when you had a good week and don’t see it on the scale. It can be very discouraging. But then I step back and say it took awhile to get here and will take a longer time to get rid of it.
    Keep up the great videos!

Something I learned a long time ago through WW and have to relearn at every temptation is that regardless of whether you eat or discard tempting non-healthy food the food has already been bought and paid for and prepared for consumption. You are not wasting by tossing you are getting healthy in mind and body! Wish I could remember that before consuming rather than after consuming…. Mind over mouth is NECESSARY for me.

So nice to “hear” you on your blog! I miss you! I especially love your description of what happened when you saw the cake in your fridge. That totally exemplifies what happens to me, and probably many others. I can be doing really well, and then something appears…at home or at work or at a party or at a restaurant and I do not pause, I do not think, I do not calculate my points, I just eat it. Or even if the food does not appear, the idea gets stuck in my head until I eat it (like it is hot, we must go out for ice cream). It feels so good in the moment, but as soon as the moment is over it is not worth it. I do believe certain “cheats” are definitely worth it, but only when I make a conscious decision to eat them, whether or not I have the points for it. Anyway, I am babbling. Later this month I will be celebrating 10 years lifetime. I too am 10-15 pounds more than I was back then, but still within an acceptable goal weight. Hearing you again has reminded me that I can do this. I just need to remember I want the weight loss more than I want the treat…sounds a whole lot easier than it is! Thanks Terra.

    Terra,
I just happened to check your blog last week and lucky for me you had just posted your first video. I just watched the second one and will look forward to the next one. I left WW back in Feb and have been subbing a little. Boy, when there’s no accountability…. you know what happens next. We sold our house in Sycamore (literally in one day!) and will be moving to Houston Aug 1st. With the insanity of trying to move and all that that entails, it’s no excuse to say that I’m off track. It’s hard to keep focused on a life that doesn’t feel like your own. Many, many mixed emotions of leaving, seeing your youngest leave home, etc…. wow, truly life-changing stuff. I realize the importance of having routines!! I am inspired, motivated, and absolutely certain that you, me and everyone else that works at this every single day will find that balance that we all so desperately want. That balance between indulging vs. deprivation. Control vs. obsession. Reality vs. the holidays! How do we truly learn how to “eat to live” not “live to eat?” So here’s what I know: I know that we were all put on this earth to do more than wake up every day and feel overwhelmed about the prospect of staying within our points, how many steps we get our FitBit, or what the scale says about you today. I don’t claim to have the answers. Every journey is different. But never, never give up. Stay in touch!!! And keep the blog going!

I am so glad that you are posting these videos! I’ve missed seeing you. Since I made Lifetime in October of 2014 I’ve had 2 big surgeries and have gained 12-15 pounds (it fluctuates) above my Lifetime goal. It’s so easy to choose to eat foods that I know are unhealthy simply because I think it will make me feel better. It would be so much easier if they weren’t in the house, but I don’t live alone. It would also be easy for me to say that my kids and husband don’t need the unhealthy foods but it’s not for me to make that choice for them (my girls are 18 and 22). But it’s about my choices and my behavior and not theirs. And the food in the house doesn’t explain my trips to the drive thru! đŸ˜‰ All of this to say that I agree with out of sight and out of mind…especially when it comes to Hershey Kisses! Thanks for the encouragement to work on my good habits that brought me to my Lifetime goal.
