Hello Brand New Day!!!

“Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.
He is rich who owns the day, and no one owns the day
who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxiety.

Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is a new day;
begin it well and serenely, with too high a spirit
to be cumbered with your old nonsense.

This new day is too dear,
with its hopes and invitations,
to waste a moment on the yesterdays.”

― Ralph Waldo Emerson, Collected Poems and Translations

What if you knew for certain that you are exactly the person you are supposed to be today? Exactly the weight you’re meant to be for now, in the right job or situation with exactly the right life challenges for you at this moment. Would you embrace the day in a different manor than normal? How would you feel?

I love the part of the poem that says “Finish everyday and be done with it.” How often do we dwell on the “shoulda, coulda, woulda’s” long after the day is over?

Emerson says “Forget them (your blunders) as soon as you can, tomorrow is a new day;
begin it well and serenely, with too high a spirit
to be cumbered with your old nonsense.”

The “old nonsense” of yesterday can weight us down far more than our own body weight sometimes.

If we wish to be light and free, we must seize the opportunity to act, think and feel light and free right now. The choice is ours to make. We only have to take control of our own thought and focus on the moment, shutting out the ever nagging self talk that tries to creep in and take over.

“This new day is too dear,
with its hopes and invitations,
to waste a moment on the yesterdays.”

Enjoy!!!!

All is well!!!!
