This short simple truth is applicable to almost everything in life and most definitely applies to exercise and weight loss. It’s a statistical fact that people who attend Weight Watchers meetings lose 3 times more weight than people who go it alone. Why? They “show up” for themselves. Think about exercise….getting up and out the door is 80 percent of the battle!! Have you ever finished a walk, a run, a bike ride or any workout and thought ” Damn, I wish I wouldn’t have done that??” NO! Even on the days you feel tired and sluggish (as I did today before my run!), if you can just get yourself out there and start doing something, it’s far, far better than nothing at all. The amazing phenomenon that we experience most of the time is that, no matter how tired we are or how much we don’t think we want to move, once we get going we start to feel better and low and behold, we generate more energy and have the stamina to do more than we thought we could. It feels good to move our bodies….the hardest part is getting up and getting going. Remind yourself today to SHOW UP for your life!
