“The doors we open and close each day decide the lives we live.
WOW! Tis’ the season to be busy! Aside from the hustle and bustle of the holiday, the rush from the roll out of the all new and exciting Points Plus Program at Weight Watchers, I’m also working on 4 home sales for the month of December! When it rains it pours! So I apologize for not being able to write to you as often or as much as I’d like! I promise to catch up!
I’m starting my day with this quote because it reminds me that everything we do today is a choice. A door that we chose to open or to close. We all have obligations and things we thing we “have to do” but in all reality it boils down to our priorities. What we do today and the choices we make are based on what’s ultimately important to us. Even with the busy-ness of life right now, let’s not shut the door on taking care of ourselves. Let’s not skip the work out in lieu of marking another “to-do” off the list. Believe me, there will be another “to-do” ready to replace it quickly any way!! Let’s keep it simple as it says in the very front of the new WW Getting Started book-“Eat right. Be Active. Repeat.”
For me, eating right all week requires a trip to the grocery store and a little time in the kitchen today. It’s not my favorite activity but it feels good to be prepared and to have choices that allow me to eat well AND stay on track. My “to-do” list today for a week of healthy eating for me and my fam:
1). Make big pot of zero PointsPlus vegetable soup.
2.) Grill plenty of boneless, skinless chicken breasts with Italian seasoning (1PPlus value per ounce) to have ready to just heat and serve.
3.) Bake several tilapia fillets with taco seasoning (1PPlus value per 2 ounces) to have on hand to make taco salads or put in a LaTorilla Factory tortilla (2PPlus values per tortilla)
4.) Peel bananas, put in freezer bags to use throughout the week in my Chocolate Smoothies (2PPlus values). Time investment: About an hour. Return on investment: PRICELESS!!!!—–Have a great week and I look forward to seeing you at the meeting this week!
